The mission of the MATCH Corps is clear: success in college and beyond for our students. Most of the students we serve come from low-income families, are Black or Latino, have about a 1 in 20 chance of graduating from college, and enter MATCH significantly behind grade level. Each tutor's job is nothing less than to change the arc of his/her students' lives.
The MATCH Corps is a yearlong (August-June) urban education fellowship. Top college graduates tutor 6 to 10 students all year at a charter school in Boston called MATCH.
We also offer an optional teacher training program called MATCH Teacher Residency. In MTR, Corps members receive additional training with the aim of becoming UNUSUALLY effective first year teachers in high-poverty schools.
We are looking for college graduates of every major who are mentally agile, hardworking, and resilient.
